Digital Credit Pilots with Emata
Highland Innovation Hub and Emata partnered to launch digital credit pilots with smallholder farmers in Kigezi, Uganda. Working alongside the Wakanda Women Farmers Cooperative, the pilot introduced mobile-based loans for agricultural inputs—bridging critical access gaps for underserved farming communities.
By leveraging real-time farmer data and inclusive onboarding, this initiative is opening new financial pathways for rural households. It is also fostering greater trust and transparency in agricultural lending, empowering farmers to invest in their productivity and future.
